Tokyo DisneySea has an overall theme of marine exploration. Ideas for the park can be traced to a proposal to build a second theme park in Southern California called "Port Disney" in Long Beach, California, with RMS Queen Mary as the main attraction. The idea was removed after the company was experiencing financial difficulties with the Euro Disney project. Then the idea was forwarded to the Oriental Land Company to expand their resort.

There are seven themed areas or "port of call". The entrance to the park is the Mediterranean Harbor, which opens up to six more maritime-themed harbors: the American Waterfront, the Lost River Delta, Port Discovery, the Mermaid Lagoon, the Arabian Coast and Mysterious Island.

Mediterranean Harbor

Mediterranean Harbor is a "port-of-call" entrance and themed as an Italian port city, with Venetian gondolas that guests can climb and ride. Scattered across the harbor are numerous shops and restaurants. The layout of the Mediterranean Harbor is different from the entrance of the "land" of other Disney parks as it is a larger "V" shape than the main road leading to a hub (as found on Main Street in Disneyland, USA or Hollywood Hollywood's Hollywood Studios "Boulevard" right, the path leads to the Mysterious Island, and to the left, the road leads to the American Waterfront.Built into the architecture in this port is the Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta. This hotel serves as a full-scale reproduction of the various buildings Portofino and the port of Venice, Hotel MiraCosta serves as the southern embankment (or border) of the park The Mediterranean Harbor also features Fortress Explorations which is a large-scale interactive play area for guests who have Fantasmic exploration activities and themed attractions, airing on April 28, 2011, 10 national parks.

Mysterious Island

Mysterious Island is a "port-of-call" in Mount Prometheus, a gigantic volcano that is the center of the park and the most prominent feature. It relies heavily on the telling of Jules Verne and, in particular, the mythology of a volcanic stronghold mentioned several times in books entitled "Vulcania". Travel Mount Prometheus uses a technology similar to the Epcot Test Path. The smallest "call harbor", but still has two more popular attractions: "A trip to the Center of the Earth", a thrill ride, and "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea", a dark ride. When it appears to be a volcano on the water, the Mysterious Island is not an island; it's built into the side of Mount Prometheus, which is part of the building's performance of two attractions. The architecture in this port is Victorian style.

Mermaid Princess

Mermaid Lagoon is home to the character of The Little Mermaid . The facade is made to look like the Palace of the Triton King and features an inspired architecture of beautiful shells. This "port of call" is largely indoors and recreates the feeling of being under water. Attractions include Floating Flying Fish Coaster; Scuttle's Scooters; Jumpin Jellyfish; Balloon Blowfish Racing; Whirlpool; all are children's rides. Also in this area is Ariel's Playground, which is a children's playground and an extensive walking attraction that re-creates various settings in movies; and the Mermaid Lagoon Theater, which is home to the 'King Triton Concert', a musical show featuring live actors, large-scale performers and Audio-Animatronics that recreate the Little Mermaid story.

Arabian Coast

It's themed after Aladdin . This re-created the Arab port combined with "the enchanted world of 1001 Arabian Eve". There are four sights on the mainland: Sindbad's Storybook Voyage, an indoor dark boat ride that the art direction seems (at first sight) variations on "it's a small world" (with its own theme song, Compass from Your Heart, composed by Alan Menken ); Caravan Carousel, double-deck carousel that can accommodate more than 190 passengers; Jasmine Flying Carpet; and Magic Lamp Theater, which houses live-action/animatronic magic shows combined with 3D movies featuring Genie.

Lost River Delta

Located at the rear of the park, the dominant structure in this "call port" is the ruins of the ancient Aztec pyramids that overshadowed the thrill of excitement, Indiana Jones Adventure: the Temple of the Crystal Skull. Also on Lost River Delta is the DisneySea Steamer Line that transports guests back to Mediterranean Harbor, 'Out of Shadowland', a live theater show that follows May, a lost young girl in a shadowy world who finds confidence and strength through her visit there. Furthermore, the Lost River Delta also contains an Intamin roller coaster named Raging Spirits. This trip opened in 2005 and is similar to Indiana Jones et le Temple du PÃÆ' Â © ril at Disneyland Park in Paris.

Discovery Port

This "Port of Call" is home to a fictitious Marine Life Institute, Port Discovery is home to two attractions: Aquatopia, boat ride using LPS tracking ('traceable' technology also used at Poun Hunny Hunt Tokyo Disneyland) to moving and spinning through the lagoon in the middle of a waterfall and whirlpool, and 2Ã, ftÃ, 6Ã, in (narrow gauge DisneySea Electric Railway), the electric trolley above which transported motorists to and from the American Waterfront. On May 12, 2017, the land became home to Nemo & amp; SeaRider's friends based on Finding Nemo/Finding Dory which replaces the former StormRider simulator.

American Waterfront

This "port of call" represents the northeast coast of the United States at the beginning of the 20th century. It features two themed fields, the "Old Cape Cod" section, and the "New York Harbor" section. The land is dominated by a large passenger ship, SS Columbia , which is usually a venue for events and events. Guests have the option of boarding the "Great City Vehicles" in the area that roam the streets of this area. It also comes with 2Ã, ftÃ, 6Ã, in ( 762 mm ) measuring the DisneySea Electric Railway, which takes passengers from The American Waterfront to the nearest Discovery Port. This port has a Broadway themed theater that plays the show "Big Band Beat", featuring 1940 jazz swing performed by a 12-part band, as well as 20 singers/dancers. The most popular harbor appeal is the Tower of Terror version, an elaborate themed E-journey free ride.

Toy Story Mania is an interactive 4-D amusement park attraction located on the American Waterfront in a new area called Toyville Trolley Park. It's inspired by Toy Story Animation from Disney Pixar. This attraction opens on July 9, 2012. Guests are asked to wear 3-D glasses during their journey from a rotating vehicle that travels through a virtual environment based on classic carnival games. There are shooters in the vehicle to let guests shoot targets in 3-D games like "egg throw" and "pop balloons".
