Millcreek Canyon (also Mill Creek Canyon ) is a canyon in the Wasatch Mountains and part of Millcreek City on the eastern side of the Salt Lake Valley, Utah. This is a popular recreation area in both summer and winter. Named after all the factories that used to be in the thick wooded canyon. It is home to two restaurants and six Scout camps.

Millcreek Canyon is next to Parley's Canyon to the north and Big Cottonwood Canyon to the south. While it may be the most accessible canyon in Salt Lake City, the upper part is much less frequented than the neighboring canyon.

Recreation at Millcreek Edit

Cycling Edit

The upper trails at Millcreek Canyon (the guys above the winter gate, located in the Maple Grove picnic area) are open for biking only on even-numbered days. Bicycles are allowed on the lower walkways on all days.

When riding on the road, the bike is subject to the same laws as a motor vehicle, including marking before turning and stopping at the stop sign. For more information please see the website http://RoadRespect.Utah.gov.

Dog Edit

Dogs are allowed in the Millcreek valley every day. They may be detached in hiking trails on odd numbered days (1 month, 3 months, etc.), but still to be stolen in all developed areas, including roads, roads, and picnic areas. On an even day, dogs should always be chained in all areas, including all hiking trails.

When the ski trail along the road in the upper canyon is prepared, it is arranged as a trail and the dogs may not be there on odd numbered days. However, when the trail is not prepared/maintained (eg before the snow falls) it is considered a service road, although it is closed to the vehicle, and the dog should be chained.

The dog owners were asked to take their dog. There are containers for dog poop in some places in the canyon, including the Great Water trail up and down.
