Laura "Luann" Bambrough (April 28, 1964 - March 17, 2014), known professionally as L'Wren Scott , is an American fashion designer and designer.
Scott started his career as a model in Paris before moving to California and arranging movie stars like Madonna and Julia Roberts. In 2006, he launched his first fashion collection, characterized by a luxurious feminine combined with an unconventional touch, aiming to form a well-defined silhouette. He issued regular tips on etiquette, known as "L'Wrenisms", and extended his reach to shoes, bags, eyeglasses, makeup and perfume. In 2013, it collaborates with Banana Republic on the line of affordable, ready-to-use vacation items.
Scott's longest relationship is with Rolling Stones vocalist Mick Jagger, whom he met in Paris around 2001. In 2014, after a period of depression, at the age of 49, Scott committed suicide in his apartment in Manhattan.

Early life and education
Scott was named Laura Bambrough by his adoptive parents, Ivan and Lula Bambrough, who raised him in Roy, Utah, with two brothers, Jan and Randall, also adopted. Laura was immediately nicknamed "Luann". Known for his tall body, he has reached a height of 6Ã, ft 0Ã, (1.83 m) at the age of twelve, and will eventually grow to 6 ft3 in (1.91 m). Because of his height, he had to sew his own clothes. He studied the construction of clothing, and the quality of the fabrics began at the age of twelve. Luann Bambrough graduated from Roy High School in 1982.

Careers
L'Wren Scott's career went from model, stylist, to fashion designer. There are two versions of how he started. The first had him at the age of 16, which was discovered by photographer Bruce Weber, when he came to Utah on a photo shoot. He suggested he go to Paris. It is said that a year later he flew to Europe with a one-way ticket, after telling his parents that he was going to New York. The second indicates that Scott moved to Los Angeles a year and a half after graduating from high school, where he was spotted by a reconnaissance with an agent relationship in Paris and started calling himself "L'Wren." Working with agencies based in Paris, Glamor and Marilyn Gauthier, he went on to work for Thierry Mugler and Chanel, Helmut Newton, as well as models for photographers such as Guy Bourdin, David Bailey and Jean-Paul Goude. His first commercial success was as a foot on the clock for a Pretty Polly sock ad, with photographs taken by David Bailey.
Stylist
Scott moved to California in the early 1990s and established himself as a stylist, initially working with photographer Herb Ritts, and later with Helmut Newton, Karl Lagerfeld and Mario Sorrenti. One of his early assignments was an advertising campaign for White Diamonds Elizabeth Taylor, who eventually became the world's best-selling celebrity perfume.
In 2009, she contributed designs for Madonna to be used in a shoot with Jesus Luz models for W Magazine and in 2011, Scott Julia Roberts-style actress for filming W Magazine, with Tom Hanks. She designed costumes for movies such as Diabolique (remake 1996), Ocean's Thirteen , Eyes Wide Shut , and Shine a Light , a documentary by Martin Scorsese about The Rolling Stones, with Mick Jagger, with whom he has been romantically linked since 2001.

As Scott said on Vogue in 2009, "I trust my instincts and stick to what I believe." Scott designed clothing, makeup, perfume, bags, shoes, and glasses.
Silhouette
"I like a very sexy silhouette, and I like it when you wear something, you put it in it, and you're safe there." Net-A-Porter describes Scott's designs as "feelings, old-world nuances: super-feminine silhouettes, meticulous cuts, fragile grooves, pencil skirts, high-blouse blouses, elegant long-sleeved dresses."
Scott is famous for his attention to detail. Described as "luxury clothing," Scott is a designer, sourcing, often cutting patterns, sewing, and fitting many of his own clothes.
"L'Wrenisms"
As a designer, he has developed what his followers called "L'Wrenisms," which is a style tip. As quoted in The Sunday Times , they are a mix of eccentric opinions and practical tips. :
- Wear bare shoes to stretch the legs.
- Spray perfume on the back of the hand, rather than on the wrist, because it is more elegant.
- Do not eat with a plastic fork.
- Avoid drinking from bottles, if possible.
- Avoid Bras and Spanx - Scott believes that well-designed garments should do everything for the wearer.
Inspiration
In a backstage interview with Harriet Mays Powell from New York , she described the design process. He started with the colors, then designed the fabric, and then designed the clothes. His inspiration is found in nature and the objects around him. Some of the collections, especially Madame DuBarry (SS 2011), and the inclusion of his Banana Republic peony shirts, scarves, and panties reflect this nature-based inspiration.
Collaboration and collections
In 2006, L'Wren Scott launched his first collection "Little Black Dress." This collection presents a black dress, including her "Headmaster" dress which is now famously worn by Madonna.
Scott's creations are often seen on the red carpet. Sarah Jessica Parker, Angelina Jolie, Nicole Kidman, PenÃÆ' © lope Cruz and Amy Adams have all been wearing Scott's dresses to the Academy Awards.
In addition, First Lady Michelle Obama liked L'Wren Scott's design, especially the decorated cardigan sweater. Former First Lady of France, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, uses Scott's designs, as well as Naomi Campbell, Marion Cotillard, Reese Witherspoon, Christina Hendricks, Jennifer Lopez, Sandra Bullock and Uma Thurman.
In 2010, Scott collaborated with LancÃÆ''me to create a capsule collection for the 2010 holiday season featuring lipsticks in Scott's distinctive bordeaux colors. The campaign was taken by photographer Mario Testino and featured a Daria Werbowy model dressed in a suit designed by Scott.
May 2011 saw the launch of Scott's first bag collection, named "Lula" after his mother. "Channel was launched in Barneys New York, with a personal appearance by Scott.
In 2012, L'Wren Scott unveiled an eponymous fragrance sold exclusively at Barney's. The aroma is eau de perfume at a price of $ 195 for 3.4 oz. He also launched the glasses line in the same year. The collection debuted at Vision Expo East, and is a collaborative partnership with Menrad Group based in Germany.

In February 2014, London Fashion Week showed the fall of 2014 the collection was canceled, citing a delay in production. It was announced that the collection would be revealed through social media, and presented in its Paris showroom for editors and retail buyers in March.
In 2013, Scott collaborates with Banana Republic with an exclusive holiday collection including women's clothing and accessories. Personal life
Marriage and relationships
L'Wren Scott got married twice, for a short time. From 1990 to 1993 as "Lauren Scott," he married British property developer Andrew Ladsky. In 1993, one month after his divorce from Ladsky, he married Anthony Brand, Prada's franchise manager in Beverly Hills. The marriage lasted for about a year. The divorce was completed in 1997.
His longest relationship was with Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones, whom he met around 2001. The couple lived in London, New York City, France, and Mustique. Scott's family members have shared opinions about Mick Jagger's relationship with their sister.
Death
After a long period of depression, Scott was found dead by his assistant in his apartment in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan on March 17, 2014. Police reported that no records were found and there were no signs of cheating. The New York City Medical Examiner's Chief determines Scott's way and the cause of death for suicide by hanging. He is 49 years old.
After knowing his death, Mick Jagger writes on his website and on his official Facebook page:
I am still struggling to understand how my lover and friend can end her life in this tragic way. We spent many wonderful years together and have made a wonderful life for ourselves. He has a great presence and his talents are greatly admired, not least by me. I have been touched by the respect that has been paid to him, as well as the personal support message I have received. I will never forget it.
A memorial in Utah on April 12, 2014 was led by his brother, Randall Bambrough. Bambrough urged people to remember Scott "As a wonderful person who is very talented and has a very big heart and brings the best in people." Her estranged elder brother, Jan Shane is also present. Abu L'Wren Scott was buried next to his parents, Ivan and Lula Bambrough, near the family home in Ogden, Utah. The last memorial was held for his friends on May 2, 2014, led by Jagger and Randall Bambrough in New York City.
Legacy
In January 2015, it was announced that Mick Jagger had made a three-year scholarship fund on his behalf for fashion design students at a London-based school, Central Saint Martins. The scholarship, which starts in October 2015 covers all expenses for one student each year, for three years (until 2017).
In the weeks after his death, the Banana Republic collection and the higher price line at Barneys New York were sold out. He left all his estate, estimated at about US $ 9 million, to Mick Jagger.
