A meeting hall is a kind of function room, a large space used for holding public meetings or meetings of organizational members such as schools, churches or deliberative councils. The final case example is the Assembly Hall (Washington, Mississippi) where the general assembly of the state of Mississippi is held. Some Christian denominations call their meeting places or places of worship, such as the Salt Lake Convention Hall. Elders and ministers of the Presbyterian church gathered in the assembly hall for their general assembly, as in the Scottish General Assembly Hall.
