Histori

Restoran

The Hard Rock Cafe (HRC) first opened on June 14, 1971 at Old Park Lane, Mayfair, London, under the ownership of American youngsters Isaac Tigrett and Peter Morton. Hard Rock originally had an eclectic décor, but then started showing memorabilia.

This chain began to expand worldwide in 1982 with locations in (among others) Toronto, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Paris, and Berlin. Hard Rock Cafe locations in the United States vary from smaller markets, more tourists (Biloxi, Pigeon Forge, Key West, etc.) to big cities (Houston, Philadelphia, New York City, Chicago, Boston, Washington DC, etc.). Hard Rock Cafe usually does not have a franchise cafe location in the United States. All US cafes are owned and operated by the company, except for cafes in Tampa and the casino of New Buffalo Wind Winds. However, in the transition from the Las Vegas property Hard Rock Hotel was originally owned and then sold to Rank by founder Peter Morton. Morton retains the naming rights of the hotel to the west of Mississippi. When Morton sold his Las Vegas Hard Rock Hotel to the Morgans Hotel Group, he also sold the naming rights, which then spawned two US (non-cafe) franchise hotels in Albuquerque and Tulsa. Hotel Albuquerque no longer pays for the Hard Rock rights and is reverted to its previous name in June 2013. More franchised hotels from Morgan are planned for Sioux City and Vancouver.

In 1990, The Rank Group, a London-based leisure company, acquired the Mecca Leisure Group and continued its concept expansion in its geographic region. Rank went on to buy Hard Rock America from Peter Morton and also Hard Rock Canada from Nick Bitove. Following the completion of the acquisition, Rank gained worldwide control over the brand. In March 2007, the Florida Seminole tribe acquired Hard Rock Cafe International, Inc. and other related entities from the rating of US $ 965 million. In 2008, anonymous staff members criticized businesses for the practice of paying them less than half the official minimum wage in the UK, with businesses allocating tips for staff to bring their salaries in law. Most customers, it is said, do not realize that they are subsidizing low wages when they give a tip.

Memories of music

HRC is known for its rock-and-roll memorabilia collection. The cafes ask for music memorabilia donations but also purchase items at auction around the world, including signed guitars, costumes from world tours and rare photographs; this is often found installed in the cafe walls. The collection began in 1979 with a Red Fender Lead II guitar not signed by Eric Clapton, who was used to the first restaurant in London. Clapton wants management to hang guitars over his regular seats to claim the place, and they are obliged. This prompted Pete Townshend of The Who to give one of his guitars, nor to sign with the notes "Mine is as good as hers! Love, Pete." The Hard Rock Archive covers over 80,000 items, and is the largest personal collection of Rock and Roll memorabilia in the world. The Marquee piece of the collection was briefly displayed at the Hard Rock museum called "The Vault" in Orlando, Florida from January 2003 to September 2004. After closing, the items were distributed to various restaurant locations. The London Vault remains open and free to visitors, located in the retail Rock Shop from the original cafe.

The Hard Rock CafÃÆ' © also has a train trainer Bedford VAL 6 used in the 1967 movie The Beatles Magical Mystery Tour. The vehicle was completely refurbished after filming. Currently featured in the US, but making regular appearances in shows in the UK, especially at the original Hard Rock Cafe in London. In 2001, a competition was run to win an actual bus, but it was never awarded and remained with the cafe.

The hotel started another expansion in 2007 at a cost of $ 750 million. The project added 875 rooms in two towers and expanded the meeting room. In March 2011, Morgans handed control of the property to partner with Brookfield Asset Management, citing high debt on property in the face of the economic downturn. Hard Rock Park opened on April 15, 2008 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The park is expected to attract around 30,000 visitors a day, pledging to create more than 3,000 jobs, and be billed as the largest single investment in South Carolina history. It is planned to feature a large concert arena and six zones with over 40 attractions. HRP Myrtle Beach Operations, LLC, filed for Chapter 11 on September 25, 2008. The Company hopes to reopen in 2009 after the restructuring. On January 2, 2009 after failing to attract buyers with a minimum bid of $ 35 million for over two months, Hard Rock Park asked the Delaware Bankruptcy Court to convert the filing into Chapter 7, triggering the immediate liquidation of assets to pay off creditors, and Park closures.

The new owner changed the name of the Freestyle Music Park venue and plans to reopen the theme of the music but, without the name Hard Rock by Memorial Day, 2009. The park only operates an additional year and never reopened due to bad attendance.

Acquisition by Florida Seminole Tribe

On December 7, 2006, Rank sold his Hard Rock business to Florida Seminole Tribe for $ 965 million. Included in the deal are 124 Hard Rock Cafes, four Hard Rock Hotels, two Hard Rock Hotels and Casino Hotels, two Hard Rock Live! concert venues, and stakes in three brandless hotels. Rank retained the Hard Rock Casino in London, and changed his name to G Casino Piccadilly. The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas is also not part of the deal, therefore sold by Peter Morton to the Morgans Hotel Group in May 2006. The final takeover mired in controversy, due to a payment clause in a contract with a casino developer, Power Plant Entertainment. The Power Plant and Seminoles announced a settlement in April 2007 that both sides called fair. On January 8, 2007, the rating shareholders approved the offer of $ 965 million Seminoles. The Tribe announced it has completed the agreement on March 11, 2007.

On June 22, 2008, Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & amp; The Hollywood Casino starts a "Vegas style" gambling table next to the Class II slots already in operation. To win the approval for table games, which are banned under Florida law, the Seminole Tribe pays the State of Florida $ 100 million as part of a 25-year agreement signed by Governor Charlie Crist. On July 3, 2008, the Florida Supreme Court ruled that the governor's agreement was unconstitutional, but the table games continued to operate because the Federal Department of the Interior approved a treaty that now does not apply to the state.
