Anna Campbell Bliss (July 10, 1925 - October 12, 2015) is an American visual artist and architect. His distinctive artwork combines colors, light, math, motion, science, and technology. A modernist artist, Bliss, who pioneered early computer art in the 1960s, was one of the first artists to use computer technology in his artwork. Examples of his work are included in the Art Institute of Chicago collection, Cliff Lodge in Alta, J. Willard Marriott Library, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Utah Museum of Contemporary Art and the Utah Museum of Fine Arts. She also designed the house with her husband, architect and professor Robert Bliss, through their architectural practices, Bliss & amp; Architects Campbell.
Bliss is based in Salt Lake City for much of his career. Some of his greatest and most famous works can be found throughout Salt Lake City and surrounding areas, including his first public commission, "Windows", a 30-foot mural consisting of boxes mounted from 1989 to 1990 on the processing of the preceding central dates in Utah State Capitol; "Light of Grace", a stained glass window installed in the Saint Thomas More Catholic Church in Sandy, Utah, in 1993; and "Extended Vision", was installed from 2001 to 2003, a series of screen printing and scratch plates on display in the lobby of the Cowles Mathematics Building at the University of Utah. One of Bliss's main art commissions includes "Inventors," a mural that recalls the topography of Salt Lake City, officially unveiled at Concourse E at Salt Lake City International Airport in 1996. During the creation of "Discoverers," the conservative Utah social by inserting naked images on the mural. However, as he explained in a 2012 interview, "" I include nudes in a small way, just to build relationships between ideas and people... Because of the local attitude, I can not have nakedness. "Instead, he added computer-generated figures to the airport mural at the suggestion of one of his assistants.

Biography
Bliss was born in Morristown, New Jersey, on July 10, 1925. He attended Wellesley College, where he received a bachelor's degree in art history and mathematics in 1946. In 1950, Campbell completed his master degree in architecture from Harvard University. He, who was influenced by the Bauhaus, also studied the art theory under GyÃÆ'¶rgy Kepes in M.I.T. and later became a student of Josef Albers through a workshop in Minnesota. He also studied engineering at New York University.
Campbell, 22, at the time, met prospective husband, 26-year-old Robert Bliss, at a dinner party in 1947. They married only three months together and remained with 68 years. They travel throughout Europe after their marriage. Robert Bliss was hired as an architectural teacher in Minnesota in 1954. The couple soon founded their own architectural firm, Bliss & Architects Campbell. Together, Anna Campbell Bliss and her husband designed a residential home that combines their natural environment.
Robert Bliss applied, and hired, as dean of the Department of Architecture at the University of Utah, now called the College of Architecture Planning, in 1963. He served as dean from 1963 to 1986, which necessitated a move from Minnesota to Utah. Anna Campbell Bliss initially disliked the relocation to Utah, told the Salt Lake Tribune in 2012, "I am deeply involved with Walker [Art Center] and the Minneapolis art scene." I do not find the degree of stimulation in the art world here. "To combat this, Bliss enrolled in screen printing and computer programming courses and studied movements and dances at the Utah Dance Dance Theater to find inspiration. He incorporated these influences into his work.
Malcolm began to lose sight of the macular degeneration during the 2000s. She regains her vision through a series of eye shots given every six weeks for six months at Moran Eye Center at the University of Utah.
Filmmaker Cid Collins Walker, based in Utah near Washington D.C., produced and directed a 2010 documentary focusing on Bliss's life and career called "Arc of Light: A Portrait of Anna Campbell Bliss."
Anna Campbell Bliss died at her home in Salt Lake City on October 12, 2015, at the age of 90. She survived her 68-year-old husband, Robert Bliss. His funeral was held at the Cathedral of Madeleine.
